AGMH Merit Program
Purpose

To identify and promote horses of quality and consistent achievement over time in our breeds, as a guide to breeders and consumers.

What are Merit Awards?


Horses that achieve points in Under Saddle, Conformation, Versatility, and "Supreme Sport" categories will be recognized. Horses may achieve Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Double Platinum awards, as well as Supreme Sire and Supreme Dam. double Platinum and Supreme Award levels result in induction into the Hall of Fame.

Who is eligible?

All horses registered with AGMH at the time of application. Horses that have achieved designated wins at World and International Shows prior to January 1, 2005, may be grand fathered. All placements in AAA shows after January 1, 2002, are counted.

Programs
  • Conformation, Under Saddle and Versatility
    Points are awarded at UMH AAA rated shows as follows:

    First-40 pts
    Second-30 pts
    Third-20 pts
    Fourth-10 pts
    *10 additional points added to the above for each World Show placement.
  • **Versatility placings are awarded double points.

    Eligible classes include Age Division classes, Ladies and Gentlemen's classes, Juvenile, Novice and Amateur classes in each UMH way of going division [only one division and type of class per award level.]

  • Supreme Sport
    Horses may accrue points in recognized sports including endurance, NATRAC, trail trials, field trials, open show versatility events, and other events for which recognition is requested.

How
Fill out the Merit Award Achievement Form, with the appropriate fees (all lower level fees must be paid) and mail it to AGMH, Box 670, Clay City, KY 40312 with your original AGMH certificate.  You will receive an updated AGMH certificate of registration showing your Merit Level(s) achieved.  Also, your horse's achievements will be published in the UMH Magazine.

POINTS REQUIREMENTS
Bronze 100 points in a specified way of going division and class.

Silver Achievement of Bronze level, plus 200 additional points.

Gold Achievement of Silver level and 300 additional points.

Platinum

Achievement of Gold level, three first place Championships in AAA shows and two UMH World Grand Championships.

*For Platinum Versatility, only one UMH Grand Championship is required (Super Horse Award).

Double Platinum Achievement of Platinum Level in two of Under Saddle, Conformation, or Versatility.

Supreme Stallions Have sired two or more offspring that have achieved Platinum Level.

Supreme Dams Have foaled two foals that have achieved Platinum, or one foal that has achieved Double Platinum.

Hall of Fame Double Platinum and Supreme Horses are automatically inducted.

Bronze-$10, Silver-$25, Gold-$50, Platinum-$100, Double Platimun-$200, Supreme Stallions-$200, Supreme Dams- $200, Hall Of Fame-No Charge
