The AGMH Breeders' Cup is an incentive fund competition to reward and promote Mountain Horse stallions, mares, and their get. Dividends are paid to owners/nominators of winning offspring and to owners/nominators of the sires and dams of winning offspring. Only nominated horses may be advertised as AGMH Breeders' Cup Stallions, Dams, or Offspring. Competition classes are held each year in conjunction with the UMH World Grand Championships. The Breeders' Cup Classes employ a separate judge and are a separate competition from the World Show. For 2011, nominations of stallions, mares, and offspring may be made until 5 PM, September 5th at the UMH World Show Office. To have ads included in the 2011 AGMH Breeders' Cup Program, nominations must be received by UMH by August 15, 2011. To have information included in the 2011 World Show magazine, information (and photos, if applicable) must be received by July 15, 2011.
NOMINATIONS
Sires and Dams Stallions and mares may be nominated for 1 year or as Lifetime Participants. If nominated for 1 year, nomination will be required in successive years for offspring to participate in that year. If nominated as Lifetime Participants, no nomination (of the Mare or Stallion) will be required in successive years for offspring to participate. One nomination fee for a stallion or mare allows for all offspring to be eligible to show, regardless of number.
Offspring Colts and fillies are nominated each year to participate in Breeders' Cup Classes. The sire and dam of each participant must be nominated in that year or must be Lifetime Participants.
ELIGIBILITY
Stallions and mares must be registered AGMH to become AGMH Breeders’ Cup Sires or Dams. Only the owner of a horse may register the horse with AGMH. You are not required to be the owner to nominate a stallion or mare. A portion of each premium will be paid to the nominator of the stallion or mare. All offspring must be eligible to be registered AGMH and must have papers pending at the time of the Breeders' Cup. Applications for registry of offspring can be made until 5 PM, September 6th, at the UMH World Show Office. Owners of offsrping, nominators, and exhibitors must be members of UMH to participate.
AWARDS
Dividends are paid to the top 5 places in each Age Division class. There is a guaranteed minimum total regular payback of $2000 per class in 2010. 10% of each premium goes to the nominator of the sire, 10% to the nominator of the dam, and 80% to the nominator of the offspring. No sire or dam dividend checks will be issued for amounts less than $30. Breeders’ Cup Trophies are awarded to all 1st place winners. Ribbons are awarded to2nd through 10th places. No dividends are paid for the Sire and Get Class or Top Producer Award.
ADDED INCENTIVE FUNDS
Added Incentive Funds may be provided by the owners of stallions and mares to encourage the participation of offspring in Breeders' Cup classes. These funds are not paid or administered by AGMH/UMH. These funds are negotiated directly between the parties involved.
TOP PRODUCER AWARD
A perpetual trophy honors the nominated stallion with offspring earning the highest number of points in Breeders' Cup Classes each year. The year, name of the stallion, and the names of his owners are permanently inscribed on this Breeders' Cup Trophy.
Points for this award accrue in the 6 Age Division offspring classes as follows:
1st=10, 2nd=9, 3rd=8, 4th=7, 5th=6, 6th=5, 7th=4, 8th=3, 9th=2, 10th=1.
2010CLASSES AND AWARDS
In Hand Classes will include Weanling Fillies, Weanling Colts, Yearling Fillies, and Yearling Colts
Combined Under Saddle and In Hand Classes will include 2 YO Open Trail Pleaure and 2YO Open Classic Pleasure
The final class of the night is an In Hand Sire and Get Class (up to 4 offspring may be shown in hand with the stallion in hand)
